The Legend of Flip-Flops
In the far away planet of Yapak, there lived Cheenie, a beautiful woman that was just like a goddess, she has no feet, she’s sad and lonely and she feel’s hopeless, while Laze, is a handsome man with a beautiful heart and soul but he’s mute. They are the only people living in this planet. But their houses were separated by a wide rose plantation with full of thorns.
Laze was truly, madly, deeply in love with Cheenie. Through a parrot, he sent a letter to Cheenie, in which he proposed his love to her. In reply, Cheenie wrote a letter and said that he should prove his love to her by passing through the thorn everyday to go to her house and they will marry. Laze doesn’t let a day passed without going to Cheenie’s house and little by little as time goes by he feel the pain in his feet, he ignore the wounds and continue proving his love in his actions. He brings flowers and foods and he always put a smile on her face. This is why she also felt the same way too and her day was not complete without him.
But one day, when he was on his way to Cheenie’s house, he suddenly fell down and felt numbness in his feet. He can’t walk anymore. His feet were bloody and his body was also full of wounds. He tried to pick a petal of a rose and wrote a letter to Cheenie. On the other hand, Cheenie was waiting excitedly for Laze. Then a parrot came to her with a petal of rose in its beak. She took the petal that is filled with blood and read the message saying “thorns are forever”. Without knowing, tears fell down in her face. Her heart was aching and in her heart she knew what happened. Then, the parrot caught her attention; she heard it saying “Cheenie Laze, Cheenie Laze, Cheenie Laze” again and again.
Beginning that day, she stood up and made a soft, oval shaped rubber that she put on her knees for walking and she starts to clean the thorns and the roses in between her house and laze house. She doesn’t found Laze but she found something new.
